Description:
Dear fellow bhpians,
My Honda city (V MT, Aug-2011) is in immaculate condition and it is not an adjective for this car. I have personally taken utmost care for this car for the last 11 years and no one, even for washing/waxing has touched this car. From day one, the car has only been serviced at HASS and it was preventive maintenance mostly. I have the minutest details of service records with proper dealer stamping/receipts and I hope, my fellow team bhpians may be surprised to see so much of details of my ownership. Even today, it is under Honda care maintenance program (continuous for 11 years).
I have driven my car almost 90% on smooth GJ highways for work-home commute and it has been a prefect experience in this 3rd gen ANHC which I feel was the benchmark of sedans in India then (and may be even today, with new launch of HC). It’s weakness (which every car has) has only been its low GC and softer suspension but one needs to be careful while negotiating big bumps even though there are 2 parallel iron beams on the underside, one does need to be careful. I have been driving till now on stock OEM suspension and changed my brake pads at 1 lac kms (which was just preventive, it was good for another 20K kms, may be a record for Honda) and my battery after 7.5 years (you, read it right), which was again preventive. No changes in this top loaded version as I believe unnecessary tampering with electricals is never a good thing, only change which I made was changing my stock halogens with Osram nightbreaker but with stock 55W H4 type only. Had 2 punctures in last 11 years and my MRF ZLX still has another 20K of life left with no sidewall cracks or hardening. These cars, if taken proper mechanical care, with this IVTEC 1496 cc gem, can easily give Toyotas (listen! With due respect to overpriced Innova and Fortuner owners) a run for its money and can easily outlast its owner.
My vehicle has always been parked in shade or in proper garage and so degradation to rubber parts from sun, has never been an issue and no rusting whatsoever (may be a suprise to many). Before, if forget, I must add that my car though, ofcourse with comprehensive insurance, (even had zero depreciation cover till last year which again I wanted to share with my friends that all insurancewallahs give this argument that zero dep insurance is not available after cars > 5 years or so, but again, “jago grahak jago” my case shows that zero dep cover is also available for slightly older cars as well).
Before I conclude, I would also like to mention that though there is no urgent need to sell my car but since I bought my black pearl Hyundai Kona EV in Jan-23 and with relocation to another city (working with central govt.PSU) , the thought of selling to righful next owner has come to my mind. My main objective of writing a bit lengthy details was to put across that in the space of preowned cars, I feel that my car would always give its next owner, its “power of dreams” and the price, though may look on a higher side, I would humbly state that it is not negotiable and genuine (you get what you pay for, I believe).
My only wish is that, the next owner maintains it with technical automobile knowledge (which I find that mostly team bhpians are good at) and passion it requires. So, I would prefer only team-bhpians/genuine serious buyers to respond in utmost sincerity only. By the way, only yesterday it had its service at HASS ( it has been under HONDA AMC since beginiing and ofcourse has a very detailed service record)
With best wishes and happy & safe motoring ! And let the pictures do the talking!
